Quote of the Week

In the end, we only regret
the chances we didn't take.

This quote is extremely relevant to what is going on with me right now.
I am taking a chance and leaving behind a promotion and opportunity with the company I have been with, to start with a new company in an even higher position.
No regrets.

Artist of the Week: The Avett Brothers

I recently found out the my boyfriend's mom is coming into town to visit us in about three weeks!
She is a hardcore Avett Brothers fan and was able to get us all tickets to see them in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater!
The concert is on June 22, and I am super excited.

So, this week my pick for Artist of the Week is obviously
The Avett Brothers
The band is originally from North Carolina and has been able to release fourteen albums in the last twelve years.

All My Mistakes from the album Emotionalism is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

But I can't go back
And I don't want to
'Cause all my mistakes
They brought me to you

New Chapter

Just two short years ago I was graduating from high school and making the next move in my life, the next chapter.
I left all that I knew and loved in Tennessee and moved to California
in the past two years I have made friends and lost some too.
I have met influential and inspiring people.
I have learned some of the most valuable information through just two years of school at FIDM.
I made mistakes, I took risks.
I have had really bad days, and I have had days I'll never forget
like my first day at my dream school.
and the day I found out my boyfriend was moving here.
and now another chapter is beginning.
I will be graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in just four short weeks.
I did it.
What's next for me?
I will tell you all I just received a job offer for a full
time position with a company that I love.
As for the rest of my life, guess you'll have to keep reading.

Live everyday with purpose. Hard work will pay off.

Brand of the Week

I am going to start weekly alternating between "Brand of the Week" and "Artist of the Week" to keep you guys updated with awesome brands and incredible artists that I love.

this week's brand I have decided to share with all of you is..
DC Shoes.
Most people automatically think of men's shoes and Rob Dyrdek.
DC is owned by Quiksilver; where I work, so I always check out what DC has to offer because I get an awesome employee discount and believe it or not, DC has some cute stuff for girls.
Today I bought a new tank and dress from DC and can not wait to dress them up and accessorize.

This is the dress I bought today.
And it was only $42.

Granted it is just your typical LBD but the racerback detail, single pocket, and short sides make it the perfect mix of edgy and sexy.

I will probably pair this dress with lots of turquoise and silver jewelry (my go to) and some fun sandals.

Road Trip

Let's be honest. I am BUSY. All the time.
Between work, school and my internship it is rare that I have a day completely to myself.
Because of this, I am always feeling in serious need of at least a quick getaway from reality.
Fortunately, I live in Southern California so my options are limitless.

Bask in the sun poolside in Palm Springs, take the quick drive to Big Bear Mountain and ski, head over to Las Vegas for a weekend of fun and excitement, drive to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon or spend time in my old stomping grounds in Phoenix, road trip to Santa Barbara to see my best friend and the incredible scenery, adventure up to San Francisco and experience incredible shopping and restaurants.
Need I go on? The options are endless.

Palm Springs, CA

Big Bear Mountain, CA

Las Vegas, NV

Grand Canyon, AZ

Santa Barbara, CA

San Francisco, CA

Here is my obstacle though:
College. Student.
My funds are limited.

Because of this, my boyfriend and I decided to start a "Road Trip Fund"
We each take $10-20 from each paycheck and put it in a piggy bank
(yes, a piggy bank is necessary because neither of us have the control to not spend money)
Once we have enough money saved up for a weekend getaway; it is going to be just us and the open road.

If you could get away for a few days, where would you go?
