after the longest summer ever,

school finally starts this coming week!

I am going into my fourth quarter at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

this quarter I am taking Merchandise Presentation, Merchandise Buying, Technology for Merchandise Buying, Organizational Behavior and Management, and Brand Management Strategies.

I will keep you guys updated with all my classes.

NO GENERAL ED THIS QUARTER; this is when FIDM starts to get really interesting.

not your basic baked potato

so I came across this recipe that sounded super yummy.

lucky, I have all the ingredients and am going to try this one out tonight!

I thought you guys might want to try this recipe too!

What You Need:

- two baked potatoes *may change depending on who you're serving

- butter

- olive oil

- salt and peper

-parmesan *optional

Where To Begin:

- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees

- Thinly slice the potatoes but not all the way through

- Drizzle with butter and olive oil; lightly sprinkle with salt, pepper, and parmesan

- Pop in the oven in bake for 40 minutes

hobbies & interests

I have decided I have far too many hobbies and interests. 

I'm so fascinated by fashion, obviously. but I also love the decorative details of weddings, the ability to capture an incredible photograph, the ridiculous mix of flavors and textures in a specific recipe, the delicate or edgy details of a piece of jewelry and the amazing decor or architecture in a home.

If it were physically possible, I would be a boutique owner, a wedding planner, a professional photographer, a chef, a jewelry maker, and an interior designer.

I may even attempt to do it all.

I've heard of it so many times but never remember to actually check it out.

today I finally did and in the words of Rachel Zoe, it is BA-NAN-AS.

love it. it sort of reminds me of stumble upon mixed with tumblr.

anyways, with my sister's wedding just around the corner and me being the maid of honor I have been frantically trying to step up to the plate to make the bachelorette party and day of special to my sister and best friend.

I obviously haven't been to a wedding since I was super young and so my duties as maid of honor were sadly sort of forgotten.

I found these awesome pix on pinterest and decided to post them in spirit of the approaching big day.

I am currently interning at Quiksilver's corporate offices in Huntington Beach and love it!

this past week I was lucky enough to help out with a photo shoot at my internship;

the photo shoot was for the Women's DC Spring 2012 Collection

for the photo shoot we shot over 100 items in two days. both days I got free meals and was able to take part in the process of the photoshoot- I mainly styled the model and assisted her with what item was to be shot next.

this coming week I think I am helping my supervisor select the models for the next shoot! so exciting. I'll keep you guys posted on my experience at Quiksilver.

I'm in love with Brandy Melville and it is definitely a brand I hope to carry in my own boutique in the near future. They began with a store in Santa Monica and now have stores in Soho, Fashion Island in Orange County and a brand new store in Hawaii; some of the photos above were even taken in Hawaii!

The great thing about the clothes they offer is the soft fabric, the "one size fit all" sizing system, as well as the fact that everything is so incredibly adorable.

they do not have an online store yet; but I would recommend continuing to check back- this is a growing company that will really thrive internationally.
